Build a mouse trap car
A mouse trap car is a small car built with a normal mouse trap and the use of one’s own trap energy. It is quite easy to make a mouse trap car from the beginning and the necessary materials are readily available so here is a guide to build a mouse trap car on his own.
Tools Needed:
Pliers
Drill
Saw (optional)
Scissors
Materials needed
A mousetrap
4 eyehooks
6 balloons and rubber bands
Epoxy
2 pens bic / metal rods (shafts)
2 lids pop / 2 washers
Chain
4 CDs / DVDs / plywood (wheels)
Instructions
First drill two tiny holes on either side of the mouse trap and tighten the 4 eyehooks them.
For the wheels you can use 4 CDs / DVDs or you can cut 4 circles of plywood with a saw. If you use CDs / DVDs, cut the top and bottom of two of the balloons with a pair of scissors and pull the center section over the rim of the CDs they used to glue the rear wheels for better grip. You can still do this if you are using plywood, however, this is not a necessity.
If you use the feathers to their axles, remove the top and bottom of the pen leaving only the empty barrel. The eyehooks you should adhere strictly to the pens or metal rods if you use them in place. There should be as close however, that the shaft can not rotate easily.
Create a hole in the center of a section of the axes, large enough to run through the chain. Run the string through the hole in the shaft and out one end of the shaft. Create a knot at the end of the yarn is pulled one end of the shaft and tie it to something small and then pull it into the barrel axis so that the knot is inside the barrel (this is your rear axle).
Then put the front axle through eyehooks in front of the trap (the side opposite to where the bait holder) and the use of pliers to tighten the tops can pop or washers on the shaft to stop axis to move too much or slide sideways. See the washers are not brushing the eyehooks or wheels will not turn properly. Go ahead and also put in its rear axle.
You can use epoxy to attach the wheels to the axles or may involve a balloon or some similar type of rubber around the shaft and slowly push the wheels are using it. The rubber balloons or function as a wedge and prevent the wheels from wobbling while the car is traveling.
Now for the movement of the car and tighten the chain on the rear axle to the center of the jaws of the trap (the U shaped piece that really fits into the mouse) and lift the chin back as if you are setting the trap. Keep strong jaws in this position and reverse the car until the excess cord is completely wrapped around the rear axle, place the trap as if to catch a mouse and the care of a mouse trap to go.
Setting down and use something to release the trap and look to go!
Tips & Warnings
Make eyehooks as level as possible so that the shaft is not twisted when we put it through the hooks.
Remember to put rubber wheels on the rear of the car, not the front.
Be careful to keep your hands away from the jaws when configuring the trap due to negligence can be quite unbearable.
